Diving & Snorkeling

Diving & Snorkeling in and around Krabi – Phi Phi and beyond…

Diving and snorkeling from Krabi is popular and for good reason. The Phi Phi Island’s National Marine Reserve offers some of Thailand’s best diving. There are about 20 different dive operators found in Ao Nang and Railey all offering dive courses and dive trips to the many sites around Krabi.

Top spots include The Bida Islands, Phi Phi Ley, Koh Haa Yai and the far but fantastic Hin Daeng & Hin Muang. There is also some good diving on the small islands near Chicken and Poda Islands just off the coast from Ao Nang. These dive sites are known to the dive centres as “The Local Islands” Although the visibility is never as good as the Phi Phi sites and the sites further away from the coast, they do offer a cheap alternative and are still teeming with marine life including sharks and turtles.

Half way between Ao Nang and Phuket are three beautiful dive sites known as Anemone Reef, Shark Point and King Cruiser Wreck. these sites are open water sites that often experience strong currents. These sites should be dived only by more experienced divers but offer some of the areas most exciting diving.

Sleep Easy Krabi recommend diving with “The Dive” in Ao Nang.
